Sweet Itch Rug Rubbing Mane

I am using the Rambo Sweet Itch Hoody on my mare. It is doing a brilliant job and she hasn't been itchy at all. The only problem is that the rug is rubbing her mane out. Has anyone else had this problem and what can I do to stop it?

I use oil or spray on conditioner onthe mane and also let it get some time uncovered each day even if its five minutes

Thank you. Just been googling it and people are recommending show sheen. Will give her mane a good wash and put some conditioner on.

I use this rug on my cob and his mane has never been thicker and longer....does it fit properly? My cob has ALOT of mane...very thick and there is plenty of room for it.

I do use mane and tail on it from time to time but not religiously

Perhaps you could use a mane saver/ lycra type thing under the hoody...
