Sweet itch rugs

The Pagony sweet itch rug is great as an economy one. Look it up on Divoza :)

I got one and was very disappointed with it; the rug itself was probably fine, its just the quality of the workmanship I groused about. The thing basically wasn't stitched at all well and started falling apart very quickly; I had to get my little sewing machine out to deal with it - and shouldn't have had to.

Next time I'd be going for the Boett rather than this one!

I have to say I was really let down by my Boett. I forked out all that money only to find that merely days later my horse had rubbed a number of buckles off and the neck didn't cover all the way to the top of his neck so he could still rub that part. He also easily got holes into it and it rubbed his shoulders bare. It was the correct size for him and I was devestated, so I sold it on here to someone. Luckily his SI cleared up after moving to a new yard but a few years later has come back again. I would avoid Premier Equine's sweet itch as I got that and he sweats a fair bit under it in summer and it rubs...I'm still on the lookout for a good one.

This is what I'm worried about, I don't want to spend up to £200 to find it doesn't work, I really don't mind spending it IF a rug works. Guess everyone has different experiences.
Its interesting what you say about changing yards as I am pretty sure there are more midges where we are now although this is probably because I pay more attention now I own a horse who suffers with sweet itch, however she wasn't ever as bad as she is now.
Going to stick with the neem and carry on reseaching rugs and be prepared come Spring!
