im at college and left a friend in charge of my mare and yearling, just found out that my yearling has not been wearing her fly sheet and mask at all since i left 3 weeks ago (shes ment to wear them 24/7!) and now apparenty has bad sweet itch!!! another friend told me that there is yellow puss and hair loss from her mane and tail. (the mare is fine, shes never has problems)

what can i buy and send them to treat and sooth it! im so p***** off right now and theres nothing i can do! any help is appreciated!
 
Nettex Itch Stop Salve will give relief straight away and it is gentle enough to go on the sores. I would feed brewers yeast too.. about 25g for every 450k of horse. Goodluck
 
Derfen will relieve the itch within 24 hours; My 7 yo mare loves it and the hair will grow back fast. May the force be with you because I know how p...off you can be! I have been through this...
 
Toto doesn't have sweet itch but he does scratch his tail in the summer, and his mane a bit too but not as bad, usually he has to wear a fly rug because he ends up with a partially bald tail

But we now use Gold Lable Itchgon Lotion on his tail, and he doesn't scratch it at all

Last year we had to keep his tail pulled for shows because it was too short to plait but we can plait it this year
