Hiyaa;
Has anybody had any experience with ponys with sweet itch?
Is it better to stable them??
What rug would you suggest?
Is it annoying if your riding them?
Any replies greatly recieved!

Bring him/her in during the day out at night
A descent fly rug to keep midges away during the night
dosent annoy them if you ride them what i adore and have use for years benzoyle benzolate ( sorry cant spell it hope you know what i mean haha) dose the trick use it neat make sure you use a ROBBER GLOVE..!!! use it twice a day dose the trick..!!

Would also recommend avon skin so soft (with the fly repellant in) - works wonders! Also net tex stop itch on the face (this is a cream). Don't forget to spray or rub in cream up the middle of their tummy (on the underside) midges love to bite here and because it's not visible it's easily forgotten!

My connie has sweet itch but you wouldn't know it too look at him.
He is managed:
He is in at night, to avoid the mozzies at dawn and dusk.
Has Naf D itch Supplement.
Has his mane and tail washed regualary with tea tree shampoo.
Has a fly rug with neck and belly cover and mask.
His field have electric tape.
Naf Fly Gel - seems to work better than the spray.
We also put lots of lotion on, bit greasy but seems to prevent the damage if he does itch.

Hope that helps. Sounds like alot but he's worth it and it is seasonal!
