What a lovely story.
Do you think the reason that they didn't show the dead foal to the mare because she would have smelt a rat and wouldn't have then taken to the orphaned one knowing hers was dead?
But surely she saw her dead black foal so wouldn't she have realised the chestnut foal was an imposter??? They're not stupid?

some mares maternal instinct is so strong they will mother pretty much anything though. It is pretty amazing though (I cried lol!)

Uniek did see her orphan foal - there is a very sad clip of her kicking her own foal (who was named Star), trying to wake him up ???! Risey has now been weaned, and it was his first birthday last week. He now lives out in the field with two other Friesian friends ???. I definitely recommend watching the Friesian Horse channel on YouTube! The horses are so well looked after ??.

Shocking news about Yvonne Horjus of Friesian Horses. She has had an accident related to horses and is in an intensive care unit. No details yet.
