My mare is now ten days over her due date with her first foal. She has come up with two haemotomas that look like tennis balls just inside her elbows. Over the last few days this has just turned into one large fluidy mass that runs under her abdomen. My vet doesn't seem too worried and says is from the weight of the foal and lying down more. Someone else suggested it is strain on the pubic tendon. Has anyone else experiened this and have any suggestions/ideas? Will try and get some pics up.

It is quite common, sometimes when they walk around it will decrease - like your vet said I would not worry about it , it will disappear . Looks worrying though doesn't it?

Dito. My mare had it about a week before she foaled. She went 341 days. It disapeared as quickly as it came. Dont worry about it.
