My horse has swelling in her offhind?(the back leg the side i dont get on) it is visible from sight as well as feel.

Just wondering is it best to leave her or ride her gently? someone rides her on a tues and i think maybe i should put her off...

Would it be worth poultcing her or should i leave her?

I didnt notice anything yesterday (but i am a bit blind to these things), we had our first lesson in ages yesterday and she is 14 1/2 years old...

I know i should ring the vet if it doesnt get better, but just wondering what to do tonight/tomorrow morning?

Any ideas? thanks

This happens with my boy too. If she isnt lame, ride her out but only at walk. If it still doesnt go down after a few days, call the vet. She's probably just knocked it!

That sounds reasuring thank you, i think i might let the person ride her tomorrow, but ask that she doesnt take her out for too long and ask her only to walk.

I've just put a simular post up too, but noticed my mare wasn't tracking up altough she seems fine now the swelling hasn't gone down but still a little weary about riding her incase in something a little more then a knock! let me know how she goes.
