Anyone with similar injuries on their horses hinds
My horse has just been scanned and its shown his near hind super digital flexor tendon is double the normal size (when compared on the scans). Think its from a knock.
We could not see any damaged as such - no black areas.
Hes now on box rest for 3 weeks then the vets coming back to rescan. The vets would not comment on how long he'll be off work. He's a superstar to me - we were planning on doing our first newcomers!

Is it possible he'll be ok to jump again??

I am brand new to this forum and indeed H&H online, I work on a daily basis with injuries to sport horses and hearing of your problem I would suggest that you apply temperature therapy to the leg with added compression, there are a number of different ways that this can be done! I have had some cracking results using this method on tendon and ligament injuries over the past 4 years. As far as we are concerned the days of a 'year off' or '6 months in the box' are over!
Good luck with it.

cold hosing has been used since the year dot and it works on some problems, however the temperature of the water is around +5deg c. and not really cold enough to reach the internal structures of the leg, crushed ice is around +2deg c and this penetrates further, I would use ice or a machine at -3 to -5deg c on this for 15 min 3x each day with compression and that should shift it!!
