Hi, just wondering if anyone has any experience of a small bursal enlargement on the check ligament. My daughters 14.2 has been lame for 2 weeks now, he has been on bute for 1 week and the puffy swelling is not showing any signs of going. I am cold hosing it twice a day and rubbing in linament as suggested by vet.
The problem I have is that her 13.2 is due to go out on loan in the next few weeks and if the 14.2 is going to be out of work for any length of time, I will have to keep 13.2 so she has something to ride.
I appreciate the check ligament question could be answered "how long is a piece of string" but just wondering if anyone has any idea of roughly the quickest he may recover. It is a small windgall like swelling on his check ligament and although he appears sound in walk, he is most obviously lame in trot. We have been advised by vet to keep him out by day in small paddock and in by night. He has been lame for two weeks today.
Thankyou in advance for any input.
