swelling on leg?

My horse that i just got back has got a swelling on the inside of his leg near where his hock is which happened whilst he was out on loan couldn't get a straight answer out of her so do you think it will go down on its own or should i get my vet out to look at it.
Could it be anything pernament or will it just take a while to go down
 
well he has been get ridden by his loaner and doesn't seem lame on it could it just be the last little bit of could it be infection?
 
as a general guide if it is fluid swelling then it will move around whereas if it is infection you can push it and it will indent but not move around.
