swellings on mare

My mare has 2 swellings in front of her udder, she has never had a pregnancy and they seem sensitive to touch.any ideas??

I think mares carry fat here, mine certainly does. The sensitivity could be fly bites, again my mare gets bothered by the flies around her udder.

I too would assume fly irritation. Some mares can also produce a small amount of milk without being in foal. If it was me, & the horse was healthy & showing no sign of discomfort, I'd just be using good fly repellent & seeing if there's any change after a week or 2
