Swinging up?

I watched a video last night on you tube called "Swinging up"
Has anyone seen or tried swinging up? I decided to give it a try, Not as easy as it looks, after about 5 goes i finally managed to get on, Jack my horse just stood there prob thinking wghat are you doing now!

As i watched more videos on you tube i was thinking i can do that, ill try that here are a few photos not brilliant photos.

The tongue is out so i must be really concentrating.

Some of the videos are brilliant, there is one of some children playing with the ponies in a lake doing cartwheels off the horses bum!

So I thought I'd practice on a big round bale of straw, not a good idea, really buggered my already buggered knees

what benefit is it to (unless you want to do vaulting of course) to be able to stand on your horses back? - mine would let me but not sure I'd want to even try!!

Hi, there is no benifit, Its a natural horsemanship partner/ trust exercise, as well as being different its also fun, Jack does not mind he will stand there with the look on his face like he is saying at least i have not got to go for a ride!
