Swish rug liners under Derbyhouse turnout rug?

Hello, everybody. This is my first post in the Tack Room and I hope I'm writing it correctly (clumsy English apart).

Our mare, who lives 24/7 in a paddock, has a Swish 0g turnout rug with rug liners of different weights.
We are pleased with it, but I need to buy a spare 0g turnout rug as the one she wears needs mending (she got caught in a belly strap while rolling and the strap came off. Very neatly, I must say :)).

I saw that Derbyhouse turnout rugs are reasonably priced, plus they are sent DDP and have more reasonable shipping fees than Swish.
I've read many positive reviews about them in this forum, but can anyone tell me if I can use Swish liners under a Derby turnout rug?
Don't want to buy another set of liners.

Thank you in advance for your help.

What way to swish liners attach? I have the derby hour turnout and liners so can compare for you? But never had a swish one

I don't know about Derby but Swish liners don't fit Weatherbeeta unless you take your scissors to the tabs by the wither - they don't fit through the metal buckles. So it's not something you can tell from just looking at the rug annoyingly

I think they’re the exact same! Back clips on the derby could be slightly higher but unsure

Swish fit on my shires and weatherbeeta rugs ok I find as long as you clip on the back you have to bother with the front tabs.

Maybe I'm a bit fussy about front tabs because previous rug gave my mare sore wither rubs.
But if you say I don't have to bother about them, that's fine.

The only thing that puzzles me about Derby is that they don't sell separate neck covers in different weights to match the liners ?

I don't really use neck rugs that much anyway as they are Arab's and they destroy the mane, I don't think any of the liners sell separate neck covers I've never seen any, only combo ones with the neck attached.

Swish liners have a fur cuff on the wither so do the Derby house ones whereas shires don't, the Derby house liners are really nice and they are often discounted and much cheaper than any of the others.

I only have 1 swish liner and the fastenings look the same as the Derby house ones, the tabs at the front are a bit longer but it doesn't make and difference once they are on.

I use premier equine liners under a derby house and again don’t bother about the front tabs, I find it doesn’t move as long as you use the back clips

Yes, they don't sell separate neck covers. They just have either standard neck or a combo 200g liner.

While browsing around, I also came across a (sort of) discounted Weatherbeeta 0g turnout. I'm very tempted, but I'm on a budget and it costs twice as much as the Derby rug.
Weatherbeeta has always been on my bucket list (sigh).

Thanks to everyone for the information.

Speaking of mane, the neck cover of the Derby turnout I have in mind has an elastic edge, like some sort of elastic cuff (sorry, don't know how to describe it). I wonder if it may damage the mane eventually.

There is also another Derby 0g turnout with a traditional style neck cover, but it's out of stock in 6'3, unfortunately.

I like weatherbeeta they are better quality than the Derby house rugs and I do buy shires which I find good for the money and they fit mine well, although they are still not as nice as the weatherbeeta ones but even if you just buy 1 you can use it all winter and just change the liners.

They are a bit like the snuggy headless hoods they are elastic there and I use them on 1 of my horses and it's never rubbed his mane, actually I would prefer using a snuggy over a turnout neck cover as they have never rubbed the mane out.

Might be worth looking into those I only use the headless turnout hoods though.

Thank you for your help. I'll think about the discounted Weatherbeeta, too. Thinking does not affect your wallet, right?
