Arch came in last night with really swollen cheeks, prob abit worse on his right.
Has anyone got any idea what or why this is?
His glands usually swell up when the spring grass comes through, but we've got more mud than grass at the mo!

I did wonder if he's been kicked, but he didnt seem to mind me touching them. They have gone down thismorning, but are still abit swollen to touch.

Any ideas?

It's something to do with excess saliva production as not enough to eat - I bet he has loads of hay at night and a muddy field with very little grass and no hay during the day? Prob best to be putting hay in the field as if your horse is eating that much at night and nothing during the day he is at a much higher risk of colic.
