My horse came in from the field yesterday evening with a swollen fetlock on the near hind. There is no heat and he is not lame, I cannot find any cuts or scabs. He does not mind me prodding and poking either.
I cold hosed him for 15 mins and turned him out again. This morning it is still the same just slightly less swollen.
He has got a small slit in his hoof wall that he sustained when he kicked his coronet band that has been gradually growing down. Could this be causing the swelling of something else ? I will obviously call the vet tomorrow but any opinions to why it could be swollen will be gratefully received 😊
