I was wondering if I could some of your brains!

Was going to Vale View yesterday for BD but found my horse with a swollen fetlock in the morning, typical!

Originally I thought it might be him being stood in overnight with him getting older (nearly 18), he also has a very tiny bit of mud fever which I am treating. However the path down to the field is incredibly muddy so I am wondering if he has pulled something?

It is still swollen but not quite as bad as it was, however it does have heat towards the back of his fetlock but he is sound. He has been out everyday as he won't settle in without my other horse who colics if he stays in! So can't win!!

I am a teacher so struggling to get the vet in the week, my plan is if hes the same by the end of the week take him to the vets Saturday morning.

But not sure what I should be doing in the mean time? I thought about bandaging him overnight but not sure if that is the best idea if I don't know what is exactly wrong and could possibly do more damage? Have been cold hosing as much as possible.

Any advice very much welcome! I am a worrier so panicking about what could be wrong and what to do for the best!
