swollen hind leg!! ideas?!?

Went to see my horse yesterday morning and found him with a nice swollen leg..... I thought he had done it in his stable as the is a little scab on his cannon bone and as he wears boots when turned out it only leaves him doing this over night maybe treading on himself?? He's had new shoes recently so these could have cought his leg quite harshly I assume...... Anyway this morning he still has a swollen leg with some heat he's a little stiff! If abyone has any ideas on what it could be I'm open to hearing them before I get the vet!!!!

Haven't had one yet iv cold hosed and put magnic booties on him over night

without seeing him, it sounds like a good candidate for a case of cellulitis o 'tissue infection' in the leg - I would be having a word with your vet about him as cellulitis needs antibiotics pretty quickly

Infection, so needs antibiotics, take off the boots they are a breathing ground for bacteria, cold hose and bandage
