Ok guys need your help,

Horse has come in this evening with 2 very swollen hind legs, he lives out 24/7 nothing has changed in his diet or routine. he hasn't been cantering about and no obvious cuts to cause this. any ideas what it could be? I have cold hosed both legs for 5 minutes each (timed!) and i went to lunge him but he is coming up slightly short on both legs. I have turned him back out as he is and will reassess in the morning.

any ideas as to what has caused this would be very much appreciated

*DISCLAIMER* comments regarding vet need not be said as i am not an idiot and will call the vet when appropriate, i have spoken to his owner and she doesn't feel at this moment in time its necessary between us we have over 40 years equine experience so feel confident to judge when it is needed.

Thank you for all suggestion :D

mines come in with the same, but not lame. cold hose twice a day and keep an eye on. probably just clanked himself in field. Ive got magnetic wraps on too - i have them so might as well use them:D

Love the disclaimer :D

at first I was thinking it could be cellulitis or even lymphagytis, ( spell ? )
but I'm not sure that would affect both back legs at the same time???
I'm wondering if maybe hes hurt somewhere else, and hasn't been moving around as much as normal, so the legs have filled from being stationary ???
just a guess really
Kx
