Hello!!
I hope someone will be able to help with this (i am freeking out).
Arrived at the yard today and went to grab my boy from the field. Noticed straight away that his left front knee was massively swollen, a lot of heat in it and he was so lame he could barely move. Got him to the stables and will hose the leg with brakes until the evening (the vet is coming tomorrow).
Has anyone had a problem like this? Has it resolved ok? Please say it is nothing serious and bute and bix rest will help
:(

Also since i have your attention: would you turn out again with the same heard (assuming he ll be sound after a box rest)? He has only been on that field for 4 days. He had some bite marks on him the previous days but i wasn't too bothered since they have to establish a hierarchy etc and now the i jury happened. I live in france and we have no individual turn out so basically he either lives out with that heard (which was the plan for the summer) or lives in with no turn out :/

In that situation I would turn out and accept the risk (unless there's something unusual going on) as I wouldn't be happy with no turn out at all for my horse.
