So just working with missy this morning and tidying her up abit for camp next week . Washed and brushed her tail and then took a sponge and washed her lady bits . Just noticed that one side of the vulva is swollen . I have never noticed it before and I can safely say that shes not normally like that .

Any clues ?

Just going to upload a pic once I find a USB lead in this god damn house  .

If she let you wash it then it probably isn't too serious. My friend's mare gets sore bits sometimes but she won't let you anywhere near when its bad. I'd probably keep it clean and washed for a few days and see what happens. Belle seems to have problems when she gets an itch and scratches her bottom on something a bit too enthusiastically.

Thats what I am thinking has happened, She would lean and scratch on walls that badly that I don't know how they are still standing *insert smirk here*

Here is a pic .... She had delightfully pooed when I got the phone out :o :o

Is it like a swollen vein? It almost looks like a hemorrhoid although it is a bit low, Hemorrhoids can make them scratch their bums like crazy. Can you do some more pictures? TBH if she was mine I would prob send a piccy to my Italian Stallion (I mean my vet :o) and interrupt his afternoon's racing in Cheltenham to ask him:)

I had to comment here.....i started browsing the forum when i was on the phone to a supplier at work just a min ago....(note it was a loooooong call so needed a distraction!)
When i saw the title to this thread it was all i could do not to giggle on the phone....brilliant title!! and then when i went on to read the comments....the bit about sending the picture to the vet made me crack up....the thought of the vet at cheltenham randomly getting a picture message of a horses lady bits!!!!comedy gold!

On a more serious note, i hope the arnica does the trick for her, i would be surprised if given the position it was a hemarroid. It could be a swollen vein caused by scratching or somthing, so the arnica may help. But if not, i really hope its nothing serious. If she is not too sore she should be ok.

Rowreach fancies herself as the next comedian :p :D .

Will just keep an eye on it for now along with some arnica . Thanks for posting :)

Just a little update for those that posted .....

She has taken a reaction to something .... what ? ... I don't know , Vet has been and given her a dose of steriods, Fortunately and funnily enough, the swelling started to go down once the vet arrive .... sods law ! But who cares, it was going down !

Its just bugging me on what caused this reaction . Oh well onwards and upwards .
