My horse has a swollen leg, it's his right leg and its swollen on the inside down the side of his cannon bone. So kind of if you run your hand down the back of his leg with your fingers on the inside pointing towards the front of him you would feel the swelling on the inside of your fingers. He was stood in today for about 6 hours but I didn't bring him in so don't know if it was swollen earlier. He isn't lame at all and I lunged him on a massive circle for about 15 mins to see if it went down cos it almost feels like a windgall and the other one was a tiny bit swollen as they both can sometimes be when he's stood in for that long. After that lunge, it reduced a bit but didn't go down fully. Should I be worrying? I put him back out tonight coz he is fine I just don't know what to do

When mum's mare had tweaked her suspensory she could only really be observed as lame trotting on the hard after schooling on an arena the day before (it did go down with work, and we were fooled into thinking it was lymphangitis again that had effected the other leg - and it did go down with work/turnout).

Equally yours could have just bashed himself so don't panic yet! I'd just keep an eye an see how is but keep in back of mind that lameness doesn't always show like you would assume (though even the vet was surprised when he scanned ours having trotted her up).

Thanks ester! I gave him a few easy hacking days and the swelling is now gone thankfully so touch wood it was just a knock!
