Morning, checking over my horse this morning and noticed her near fore is swollen from fetlock to knee at the back. Slight heat. Doesn't object to me touching it and is not lame. Have cold hosed and she is 24/7 turnout individual. Wwyd next or just keep eye
Thanks

Keep an eye on it - if it's gone down while being turned out it may just be a digestive disturbance.

If still swollen have a look for an injury - may be very tiny - if you can't find anything then poultice the leg and see if this produces anything.

We cant diagnose what is wrong with your horse without a good set of pictures, at least.
Hence, I'm not really sure what you are asking?!

You'd maybe have got different or more responses if you'd a) provided pictures and b) posted it in the appropriate place.

If it were my horse, I'd have a good look around to see if I could locate a source, cut, injury, puncture wound. If I was confident there was none then I would cold hose for twenty mins at a time three or four times a day and keep an eye on it if it hadnt gone down within a couple of days I'd call the vet, if it got worse, I'd call the vet, if there was a wound I'd consider calling vet dependant on location, if it was at either joint area or a puncture would... Vet. Without pictures there's not a lot we can really say as how to deal with it would depend on a number of factors we can't asses online, but in every case where there is swelling, you should cold hose as above. And if there is a wound he will probably need some antibiotics.

Since you seem unsure, I'd suggest you call the vet.

Lift the leg, squeeze from knee to fetlock down the tendon, repeat 3 times and if your horse flinches then see if it happens in the same.place everytime. If so - cold hose, box rest, vet.

I doubt it's a grass/ digestive issue if its only one leg.
Did she get ridden yesterday? If so what did you do with her? Is there anything in the stable she could have hurt herself on?

I would cold hose, bandage and keep in. If its no better then call the vet. IMO I wouldn't risk it just for the sake of a call out fee, but you leave it 24hrs to see of it goes down considering she isn't lame.

In that case as long as there are no wounds/ cuts etc then its probably an arthritis issue; depending on where exactly the swelling is will depend on what bit has flared up.
I would cold hose and bandage and if she doesn't appear to be in pain (if she is I would recommend a vet for some anti inflammatories to help the swelling go down. You could also try walking out slowly to see whether movement will help.
But- I am not a vet, I have seen the leg and I don't know your horse!
