My horse went hunting saturday, she was kicked (we thought at the time on chest), however was sound then, that evening, and sunday. This morning she has a swollen leg (near fore), swollen from the knee (including knee) up to top of leg, mainly front and inside.
She is not lame on this on a circle or straight line in walk or trot. However, if you poke/prod the leg she is obviously sore.
Vet has said probs just bruising, so has given steroid and bute injection and said see what happens with swelling, ring him on weds with update. Then we will x ray following monday to check for small fractures (which wouldnt show straight away). So she is having a week off work, but still turned out.
Has anyone else had similar? my thinking is is she is not lame on it, hopefully is just bruising...hoping for more opinions!
