For around a month my mare hind fetlocks swell when she stabled overnight. Not a problem doesnt bother me as it goes down when out.
But recently I have started to notice that 1 hind leg is fat to fetlock and has no swelling to cannon bone etc. The other hind leg swells right up to the hock and looks enermous. Even the fetlock is fatter on this leg that the other.

Would this be caused from her being in at night or could it be something else? Got to chat to my vet tomorrow about getting a set of bloods done to see if her liver enzymes are still good so will mention to him anyway. But just wondered what your thoughts are

I have found that it usually (but not always) means there is a hock problem. All the horses I have known with bone spavin have this when they stand in for prolonged periods (say overnight).

Ah thanks wagtail. Never thought of it as a hock issue but you could be right. She did get kicked in the hock of the swollen leg a few months ago. So wonder if it something changing in the hock etc that making it swell.
Will chat to vet and see what he recommends to do.
