Swollen nose

When I went to give Ellie, my little pony, her prascend yesterday I thought her nose looked swollen on either side of her nasal bone. She was fine in herself so thought would leave it and see what she is like today. This evening it definitely looks swollen and she also seems to have swelling under her jaw.

I took some pictures but they haven't come out brilliantly but hopefully they show the swelling. Has anyone seen similar? She hasn't got the best teeth - she is 20+ years old and has got diastema, her teeth are checked 6 monthly, last done about 3 months ago. I will contact the vet tomorrow but any thoughts welcomed in the meantime.

Possibly abscess or could she be reacting to something like a wasp sting? Hopefully she's alright.
Is she still eating?

Might just be expansion of nasal passages because it’s so hot.

Similar happened to my pony turned out to be an insect bite reaction but I would deffo get teeth checked and inside the nose incase they've been rooting around and got a thorn stuck in the nose.

Thank you all - the vet is coming tomorrow to check her out, we think it may be her teeth so they will have a good look and see if there is anything going on.

Did you ever find out what caused the swelling? My gelding has something similar.

We think it was her teeth - she hasn't got that many left and the vet thinks it was inflammation where she had food stuck. She has since had another one removed and seems fairly stable at the moment.
