Swollen vagina

My friends 3 year old has come up with this today. Her vagina is very swollen, None of us have seen it before and the yard owner has years and years experience on horses and breeding and never seen it. She has never been covered or AI'ed we have just started to brake her in but only done lunge (20 mins max) and a walk out on road we have no idea what to do just wanted experienced advice before calling a vet out.

I’ve known a few horses injure themselves there so I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s done the same.

I’m assuming you mean her vulva (visible outer skin) not her vagina? It could be caused by many things but I’d recommend getting a vet out, especially if your experienced YO is unsure.

Is a riggy gelding anywhere near? I’ve seen geldings mount and penetrate mares in mixed herds.

She's stabled and no the only stallion on yard is secure and has a stallion gate on x

Could she simply be in season and reacting to the stallion being near by? I know you said yo is experienced but it’s shocking how simple things can be.
