Breaking news on the SWSJC website that this summers events are in serious doubt ecause of the huge increase in rent this year.

This will be a devastaing blow for Westcountry Showjumping, adding to the lack of venues in Devon after the closure of Poltimore and Coombe Park.

Cant beleive no jumping at Easter!

From reading the Breaking News on the SWSJC website, it looks like only the Easter Show is in doubt beacuse of the lack of time left to prepare and set up for the show.

Quote from their website:
" We are sorry to say that since our AGM on 8 Feb 2010, negotiations with our landlords at Bicton (Clinton Devon Estates) over operating conditions and the rent they intend to charge this year and next year have broken down.
As a result, we might have to move or even cancel our planned Easter 2010 show because of the lack of preparation time available now.
This is why schedules have not been posted out.
We apologise to you all for this, as we know how passionate you all are about coming to our shows, as indeed we are about running them.
The committee and I are meeting on Monday 8th March to discuss the options available, and to make a decision then about our Easter show, and going forwards.
We will make an announcement shortly afterwards, in the meantime please bear with us.''

I have no doubt the committee are working very hard to sort this problem.
From experience I know the organisers love the club as much as we love jumping there.

Such a shame, and it looks as if we may lose Dorset Showground too after this year
