Well,dear little Jelly is doing well with her diet...she's lost a full 3 inches from her (now receding) waistline

Have absolutely no idea what she actually weighs,BUT we have progress,which can only be seen as a good thing.
She thinks I'm mean making her eat boring old HiFi Lite*mwuahahahaha* and she MUCH prefers her *rationed* haylage but,as her current menu is doing her good I'm putting my foot down and not allowing any sulking ie:*but Mum,I'm wasting away...PLEEEEEEEEAAAASSSSSSE can I have some more

* or "What d'ya mean I have to eat THAT!!It's sooo boring*sulk*"

Next week we start that thing called exercise,although quite what she'll make of that Jelly alone knows

No,I haven't,but it does sound an awful lot more appetising than the Lite

Got about 1/4 of a bag left of the Lite,so may replace it with the Good Doer and see if she finds it more to her liking

Before changing to Simple Systems I have fed both Good Doer and Lite.

Good Doer smells lovely - has mint added and it also has vits and minerals in it which is why it a little more expensive than the Lite version.

Is she not able to have hay - less calories than hayledge so she could have more or it could be mixed with oat straw which is something I have done for a fat pony in the past so she could have a longer eating time but no more calories that necessary.

Glad to hear that she is doing well.

Thanks Theresa

Unfortunately she finds hay too coarse to chew(her teeth are quite poor*she's ALWAYS had that problem*) so she has the Horsehage Timothy haylage and is strip grazed in a little paddock....the weight is slowly coming off her though...she just hates the HiFi Lite!

Poor little girl. I will check the bins at the yard as I think one of the fatties still has this following my recommendation and I will ask if I can grab a handful and post it to you for her to try. Will PM if she does feed it.

Stick to the Hi Fi Lite if she hates it - the weight'll really come off! Good Doer has a much higher sugar content than Lite. you can add some Alfa A lite as they need protein (yes, really). Good luck and good for you addressing such an important yet badly overlooked aspect of many ponies.

I changed from Happy Hoof to the Lite as the fibre content of the Lite is quite alot higher. She ADORES the HH(must admit it smells lovely) but I found that she absolutely pigged out on it.

Thanks for the suggestion though

Thanks for that.Wasn't aware that the GD had more sugar in it(they don't state %sugar content on their website)

Think that'll be a no......although I saw her gallop round like a loon this morning so I know she *can* move when she feels like it
