Don't know if this is the right forum to ask this!

Does anyone remember the title of the children's pony book that featured the three ponies called Symphony, Solo and Serenade?

If I don't find out soon I will drive myself completely around the twist; it is driving me nuts!!!

Many thanks.

Title won't just come to me at the moment but I think it was about two girls who take on a coloured horse called Clown. One girl is a bit posh and has the three ponies with those names. Flippin 'eck, I wish I could remember the book!

Yes, there was definitely a posh girl in it who wasn't very nice but came good in the end; in the true tradition of children's stories!

So keep thinking Jumbyjack you're nearly there! And I would be really grateful if you can put me out of my misery!

LOL..i read all those books as a child they were by someone?pullen-thompson werent they? loved them all, ................aaaahhhhhhhhh.......just came to me was called "three ponies and shannon", Shannon was the big dog belonging to the posh girl..i think?

Three Ponies and Shannon. Shannon being the Irish Wolfhound.
Yes, I read all these. One of the Pullen-Thompson twins has only very recently died.
There was a lot of good sense in the books. I always remember about "pedalling harder if the horse is lacking implusion." They had instruction from a rather frightening continental dressage instructor, when most people were still just hunting made and thought dressage was for wimps.

Thankyou all for saving my sanity!

Now trying to get hold of Three Ponies for Shannon from somewhere. My Mum 'mislaid' (I say chucked out!) my well-loved pony books when I was at Uni and I still hanker over them. Sad or what?
