My vet recently recommended I use a joint supplement for my aging TB x Shire who has suspensory and joint problems. She suggested Synequin but said it was expensive and mentioned that there was an alternative availalbe from the Channel Islands that was a fraction of the cost but the exact same compounds. Does anyone know what it is called or where I can get it? My bank balance can't take the cost of the Synequin :(

I used to use cosequin on my mare, when insurance no longer covered the cost my vet suggested changing to Equiflex, which is indeed bought from the Channel Islands. I've been using it ever since and, as well as being extremely good value, seems to do the job well too.

Synequin is very good, if you can get through the loading period the normal dosage of 1 scoop every other day is easier to live with moneywise! It then seems to last for ages.
