Synovial proliferation......

Is this where there is calcification is present due to injury and starts to interfere with the action/adheres to the tendon/ligament? Or are you talking about calcification with a joint itself?

If its the latter I have no experience, if the first then I do.
 
The way I understand it is that it is when the synovial membrane that lines a joint capsule starts producing fibrous villi that then interfere with the other components within the capsule.

There appears to be quite a bit written on synovial proliferation in humans but not so much on equines. If horses are the same as humans then there are apparently numerous causes (trauma can be one, yes) but that the type of proliferation can't be identified until a sample of the joint fluid is analysed.

Oh sorry then, its not what I was thinking of. I thought it was calcification build up on a ligament that you were referring to. Hope you get your answer.
