I have a pony that drives, she had done a lot before I got her and is a bit of a pro. She has mostly been ridden while I have had her but we have driven sporadically. She always takes back to it really well, and seems to enjoy iy. So, now she no longer had a rider, I amthinking of driving more and would like to upgrade our gear. We have a leather harness that she came with many years ago and which I hate. I would love a nice easy synthetic harness that isn;t stiff and manky and can be easily cleaned. I don;t have loads to spend so can anyone recommend anything at the cheaper endof the market?

Must be quite adjustable too as she is only 12.1 but chunky with a long back.

Zilco is what I use it's very adjustable. I suggest that you take a look on the carriage link web site which sells used driving stuff and also the NEDTL website ( North Eastern Driving Trials Club ) And the British Horse Driving Trials Association website both of which have a for sale section, you should find a set of Zilco or Tedman harness if you keep an eye out before too long there's always loads of pony stuff available, good luck with it all .

When I ordered ours, we had to take various measurements and send them over to the shop, so I guess they'll ensure that all of the different parts are the right size.

Thanks, I have seen a Zilco catalogue but think it might be a bit on the expensive side, so will maybe look for second hand as they do look good.

The one equifor do is nicer than zilco, and a bit cheaper ;) The rene schoop harness is similar too- we have the team version. I have the zilco and shetlans tedman, wish we'd got the equifor one to start with but zilco is the market leader and no problems with it.
