Synthetic saddles.

Does anyone know how much a synthetic saddle weighs?
I have just weighed my leather saddle and associated
numnahs,irons etc, as I am having trouble heaving it on to my 16.2 and it all weighs over one and a half stone ! This on top of me makes quite a lump on my horses back. I wondered whether there would be a signficant reduction with a synthetic. Everyone up in the bathroom with their saddles now please !

Sorry my saddle isn't at home so can't weigh it but it is loads lighter than a leather one - half the weight max.

Wintec GP weighs about 11 1/2 lbs

Mine is at the yard but they are noticeably lighter than a leather saddle.

Probably about half a stone lighter then. Would not make too much difference to horse, but would to me carrying it about with arthritic hands ! I think Ill investigate in the New Year.
I know they are noticeably cheaper than a leather. Thanks all.

I dont know what mine weight but my synthetic (with Cair) is VERY light compared to my leather one. Makes a huge difference to lugging it on horses!

I have this saddle and have arithrius of the left hand, it is much lighter than a leather saddle well made a great fit, very comfy they state 25% lighter than a leather saddle but when handling i think it is more than that.

I have a wintec for sale if you want a bargain .Paid £400 I would like about £180 but its a wide so might not be right for your horse/pm me if interested comes with gulletts and cover.

Yep synthetics are lots lighter, I used them all the time then when I had Charlies lovely leather one it nearly broke my back lol.
