Set out this morning to go to our first show for T off the leadrein , heading down the motor and next of all jeep starts to heat up , Hubbie is thinking head is away again , but pull in and let it cool .. luckily enough friends of ours is on their way down so they take the horsebox and hubbie tells me to take the boys on to the show and he will wait for the jeep to cool so he can drive it back home which we were 20 mins away from .

Hubbie not a happy bunny , We where talking about selling the jeep anyways and going for a fresher model , So I think what has happened has made our decision

Anyways got to the show , and as it was a mini event especially aimed at younger riders/lead rein/ beginners , I wasny sure what was going to happen with regards to what classes there was .
It was basically done like a mini event I suppose lol , first phase was barrel racing , which was fun according to tiarnan lol , he put in a good effort despite cantering most of it and him not that long learning how to canter

Next phase was a mini dressage test , including 5 metre circle which was marked out with pots and then a loop which was also marked out with markers , Unfortuntately tommy was a little keen and was jogging most of the way

, Little bugger didnt slow down for once . Anyways got through that phase with just the wrong turn but hey it was his first time , T wouldnt have the best sense of direction to say the least . Then on to the final phase which was showjumping , went around the full course on his own , fences was 30-40cm and he got a clear

. Unfortunately he didnt get placed this time but he enjoyed it and I was very proud of him , as this is his first show off lead rein .

Sounds like a lovely day for all except Hubby! Sounds like a lovely comp for kids - just wish they'd give them all a big rosette for taking part at that age.

Ahh sounds brilliant!! That was at Laurel View wasn't it? We had pony club there late afternoon and was hoping the show would still be on but it was all over.. I love to see the wee ones enjoying themselves. I think they should have stretched themselves to a rosette and a packet of sweeties for the kids, doesn't cost much, and it keeps them coming back!
