As i arrived at my yard today a navy blue Peugoet Partner van index number T505 XOA was parked in the entrance. I noticed a man in the yard inspecting the trailer hitch. I called out can i help you and he came back to the gate saying that he was going to buy some hay from me. I told him i didnt keep any hay and asked him to leave. He kept asking me if i wanted to sell anything was really persistant. It was quite intimidating.
He was Irish, in his 40s, around 6 feet tall and thick set.
He had pulled the trailer round and the lids were off the feed bins.
When my husband reported the incident he was told that the number didnt match any vehicle and therefore false.

I sincerely hope that i never meet him again.

I just wanted to make as many people as possibe aware.

How very worrying! Can you alert other horse owners in the area? Sadly this type of theft is very common and very difficult to stop.

Perhaps someone can suggest some deterrants.

Thank you Hal1K1
I have let lots of people know and yes unfortunately this kind of thing does seem to be happening more often. Only last week my friend had rugs and feed stolen (3 miles from me).
We have placed a digger in front of the gates and a car across the trailer hitch, and i have "hidden" my feed bins!
