Was wondering if anone can help me. I've recently put a martingale on my horse for jumping, but my reins do not have any stoppers on them (to stop the martingale attachments sliding down to the bit).
Does anyone know where or if you can buy rein stoppers? And if so how do you get them onto the reins as i've been trying to get stoppers off a different set of reins with no success!!
Thanks for any help!

Try ebay, they sell the rubber ones quite cheaply.
I have had to use sheer strength to get the on (used OH), or get a set of cheap reins with leather ones already attached

some reins come with the 'stoppers' attached (like an extra bit of leather). i don't think you'd manage to get them off. you'll have to go to a tack shop and get some of the rubber ones you can stretch over the rein to get it on.

they cost about 50p in our tack shop. x

You will get them in any tack shop, just ask.

I`m afraid its a case of brute force to get them on, over the buckles. The old ones are maybe to rigid now, a new set will probably be for flexible

You should be able to find some rubber ones in your local tack shop. There is a bit of a knack to get them on - I find it you slide them up to the first keeper and then sort of roll the rubber over the keeper, and then you just have to sort of jiggle it about a bit to sort it out when its over.

If you have problems put them in some warm water to soften the rubber.
