I am looking at purchasing a second hand IFOR williams trailer and was wondering about the practicalities of a tack box attached to the outside of a trailer. I would love a equitreck but can not afford one yet.

Does anyone have one and can anyone recommend one? Basically want to keep things like show grooming box, boots, hat, back protector in it.

Dont want a Tack Pack thing as you have to wheel it in and out before unloading, etc.

I can't think on an Ifor how/where you'd bolt it on without either sticking out of the side too far or being in the way of a ramp or jockey door? There's also not much width to bolt onto the front above the jockey wheel, but I'd suggest look at caravan suppliers and see if they'd have anything suitable, though I'd imagine caravan ones are wide? We just keep all that sort of stuff in the back of the car, it's readily accesible and can be locked up easily.

I just have boxes in my trailer which has my show stuff in it and when I need it, I just pick up the boxes and put them in the back of the jeep. Simples..!

Ifor Williams sell two types of tack pack, one that you wheel in and out, and a second type that bolts to the inside of the grooms door. While you are travelling it is out of the way and the horses area is not compromised, when you arrive, you open the grooms door and then you have access to the tack box and it is out of the way so the horses can unload from the ramp as normal. The only drawback is apparently not all the 18 inch saddles will fit inside it.

Thank you traey - thats really usefull - I will make enquiries with Ifor Williams.

Not to concerned about saddles as the can go in the back of the car, but its the general crap that is a pain to move in and out!

Richardson do a tack pack that fits to the front of the trailer, its roomy too. I dont know if it could be fit to an Ifor though.
