Just out of interest really as I have just come inside from cleaning all of my tack and my Mum thinks I always spend forever doing it as I'm a perfectionist!

I like tack cleaning- can be a perfectionist to OCD standards, can be a slob depending on mood

I'm the same. When I clean i'm obsessive and I'm always mortified at how black the sponge quickly becomes and always promise to do it more often....but always find something else to do, like riding

Q: why is my saddle always smeary when I clean it?

It costs a lot of money so I look after it. My pet hate is seeing bits with yesterdays hard cruddy grass on it.

Uncared for tack is uncomfortable for the horse and wears out faster.

I really enjoy cleaning it - several times a year I get all my unused stuff and clean/oil and soap it.

Took some to Pony Club for kids to see - all the unusual stuff and they kept exclaiming how soft and clean it was.

People think I'm mad as I wipe it over after every use and take it apart once a week and give good clean..... and saddle cloths, well they get used no more than three times before being washed!!!!
