Hey,

My local riding club is doing a two phase at Tack Farm Equestrian Centre, so before I make any decisions I thought I would ask whether it is worth over an hours journey? It would be for my youngster, so is it an inviting course for both SJ and XC?? Bassically would you reccomend it or not :)?

Thanks :).

(also in CR)

I have always found Tack Farm good for youngsters - XC is good for novice horses, only thing if they have it in is a sort of sunken road thing (pole in and pole out, 5/6 ish I think strides in the middle), ground is different colour in the middle and the horse I was schooling was terrified and didn't want to jump in!! However - the people were fantastic, and even though we were competing they came and put the pole on the floor and let me walk him over it (obviously elimination!) but they let me continue round as a schooling round - which is very helpful as so frustrating when bringing on a youngster if it goes a bit wrong not being able to fix it and carry on!

Have found the SJ no scary to anywhere else - they have a good set of jumps all sorts of colours etc but a nice course, usually well built. Whereabouts are you coming from - another good one in the area for youngsters I've found is Allenshill, good outdoor arena for the jumping and good range of jumps and classes on regularly.

Good luck if you do go! and have fun!

Definitly worth a visit! I'll come and be your groom, you may even see Millie there :D :p :D

The XC course is lovely, starts from teeny tiny and then gets bigger, the Show Jumps are quite bright and scary but I'm sure Max will fy round :D

I'm taking C XC schooling there for the first time soon
