Hi everyone

a quick question really

my first show I showed my ID in my black GP saddle
since then I've had a dark brown jump saddle, more close contact and which gives her more freedom through her shoulders

heading to my next show this weekend and I am wondering does it matter which saddle I use? should I stick to my GP as they are both flat work classes or can I use my jump and she moves so much better in it?

any advice would be appreciated
thanks!!

In a perfect world, you should have brown tack, with a fairly straight cut saddle to show off your horse's shoulder - it is amazing how much a jump saddle can hide a good shoulder.

How forward cut is the brown saddle? How much difference does the GP make to her movement?

Will the judge be riding? Show hunter judges tend to hate close contact jump saddles!

I'm new to showing so am changing my stuff in time but i couldn't do it all at once, The jump saddle doesnt have a massively forward cut its aimed for WH , its made with dressage blocks under neath, it just allows her for the extra movement through her shoulder and she feels generally nicer to ride in it compared to the gp.
(I used it a week or so ago at a local show as I didnt have time to change after the working hunter)
the judge will be riding yes?
