Hi all, further to my old post re teaching a horse to accept a contact i have some more questions....sorry

Got wee gingers saddle checked and saddle fitter confirmed i was right hes filled out andno longer fits. so saddle sorted now.

Alsoconfirmed that i am not straight..due to a sore back i'm twisting in the saddle. start with physio so that 2 things sorted

Rory shakes his head and tries to open his mouth sowears a flash abd martingale. to experiment tonight i took everything off him. went better than i thought the head tossing was much less and i was more aware of pushing him on which seemed to make a difference to his head carriage. did still toss a bit - could it be a habit?

So now not sure whether to ride with martingale or try to work through without?

Also had been wondering about his bit and maybe changing it. as i said he was better with the flssh off but a few times put his tongue over the bit, then back under again..he is a wee weirdo

Wondered whether to try a drop noseband as not as harsh as a flash?

Try leaving off the martingale and see how he goes.

Re the bit, would you try the Bit Bank? Would you even go bitless?

I had a quick look at the bit bank just concerned re tge tongue coming over the bit...wee sh**

I couldnt go bitless as i do want to show him and your not allowed

Then maybe try a ported bit to help prevent him getting his tongue over?
