Hi Guys,

I need your help! I currently have a big metal barn partitioned in to two stables, one HUGE (15x12) and one 7x12 (narrow but long) and a little tack/feed room partitioned next to the smallest one and a hayloft above. My Sec D colt is rapidly outgrowing his small stable and my Spaniard is too big to move to the smallest one too, so my plan is to pull down the divider between the tack room and Colts stable..... But I am then without a tack/feed room>

Anyone have any alternative ideas? Metal shed? Shipping container would be ideal but our access is too small.

I would go for a nice large shed or container. You can pick up small used but excellent condition containers for a few hundred quid now and they are much more secure than a shed or caravan (seeing caravans at yards just makes me cringe, sorry!) The container could then be painted to the same colour as the barn?

Headroom in the hayloft? Could you get a tack locker up there?
Otherwise I'd go for a more secure shed on the outside of the barn. Just ensure the hinges are designed so the door can't be lifted off them. You could even put a metal tack locker in the shed for added security.
