Can anyone give any good tips or designs for a tack room please? ,current yard will be getting there's ripped out and started again with more storage and shelf's.

Just wanted to know if anyone has any good workable designs and maybe pictures please.

Thank you

Ours has - wall 1 ,9 saddle racks, next wall is 9 shelves, back wall is sinks and the 4th wall is bridle hooks and a bench. However seeing as there's now more people than expected(!) there's standing saddle racks dotted about everywhere!

Another yard I was at had an 'L' shaped tack room. Basically the saddle racks went round the longest side and everyone had the space below their saddle rack for other storage. The shortest side was used for cupboards/feeds.

And the other yard was very small so it was a makeshift area of an old stone barn with low ceilings. Basically there were 4 corners and the room was split like + so everyone had a corner for tack and rugs etc

Probably not explained that the best !

I always think that either rails or hooks to hang rugs up to dry on are useful.

Guess the rest depends on whether people use chests or cupboards for personal storage, but saddle and bridle hooks away from door is a good idea.

Most important aspect is security good locks on door window, plus do you have water/sink for drinks, cleaning tack etc

There are some great ideas on Pinterest. I've got all my saddles and bridles on one wall, cupboards and shelves on another, sofa opposite the tack and am having fitted kitchen units on the last wall so that I have a sink etc and proper cupboards to lock away vet stuff. Oh and my new lovely wooden saddle horse in the middle for tack cleaning. I love it as it's much better than bedding down to clean saddles on those small metal stands.

I have a large shed inside the barn which is used as a tackroom, small but there's only 4 horses.

Wall 1 - two rows of saddle racks
Wall 2 - a line of bridle hooks and chairs underneath
Wall 3 - a 'fitted kitchen' with lots of drawers and cupboards plus kettle and mini fridge.
Wall 4 - nothing fitted to it but has a few storage boxes full of stuff, an oil heater and another chair.

We have a rug rack outside the shed

Probably of no help to you whatsoever lol

I remember when viewing yards I loved the tack room in one, it was huge. It had a kitchen area with cupboards, drawers, a sink, kettle, microwave and beside it a couple of couches with a coffee table.

One wall was lined with saddle racks and bridle hooks, another wall had a rug rack, another had everyones own storage chests/boxes full of things and there was a dining sized table and chairs in the middle for cleaning tack at! It was a lovely atmosphere inside, it was like a wee hub where the yard all got together, making tea, having a chat, and cleaning/sorting their tack, I loved it!
