Tack room designs

Shelving is your friend! I got a load of heavy duty shelving from B&Q - http://www.diy.com/departments/5-tier-metal-shelving-unit/182264_BQ.prd which is great and then I just use plastic boxes to sort everything on them. So I have a box for boots, grooming, first aid, clipping stuff etc. I have two of these racks down one entire wall.
I also have a bridle hanger dangling from the ceiling for tack cleaning which is great.
Another entire wall is covered by saddle racks, but i still dont have enough!
I also have a chest freezer for storing saddle pads, girths etc as it is completely rodent proof so I dont have to worry about my stuff getting eaten. Also the top is a great area for tack cleaning again.
Also love a good white board in the tack room with what feeds horses are having, farrier/vet appointments and their exercise and turnout schedule so that everyone knows what is going on.
One thing I do need is a new collapsable saddle horse for tack cleaning as mine has just broken :(
My tack room isn't the poshest but it is functional which is the main thing.

I use the wardrobe hanging storage units from Ikea - the shoe one is ideal for bandages and they do a wider one which fits two folded-in-half pads in each section. I would say plenty of saddle racks and hooks, somewhere to hang girths and somewhere to hang tack for cleaning. Drawed storage units always handy for things like clipping blades, plaiting kits, first aid kit etc etc, and my two favourite things are probably my small radiator to keep things from getting damp (set at about 14 deg) and an old washing machine!

Love the pintrest ones. If your budget isn't as lavish, look out for friends /family changing kitchen. Draws, cupboard and work top would be very useful
