Tack room tidy and storage

Hi all,

Anyone got any genius storage ideas for the tack room? Moving back in soon for the new horse and have decided I will try my best to be tidy this time!

Any smart tips and tricks I’ve never thought of? ? I was going to get a big trunk but I know it’s going to just be smelly and gross!

How much space do you have? I don't really have anything useful to say myself (not famed for tidiness and keep them at home) but would be handy to know how much room you have available and what you've got to fit in it.

I’ve got a decent amount, basically half a room which is about 5m by 5m… more space than any other yard I’ve been to in fact which makes my untidiness worse lol

I have got the usual amount of collected junk of a horse owner and a tack room about 12ft x 6 ft. Two big dexion shelving units across one end, for rugs, bags, boots, allsorts of trec type foldable items. I x long wooden saddle rack with shelf, enough for both saddles, bridles on hooks above. Table for mixing feeds, 1 x corn bin with 2 storage areas, wheelable trolley below electric points for kettle, clippers, coiled electric flex etc. 1 x large bucket for all fencing stuff not in use. And, a VERY useful rack with hanging hooks that fits over the back of the door for all old reins, girths, first aid bag, cleaning stuff etc. Keep the floor well swept, that makes a difference too.

Have a look on Freecycle, Preloved and Marketplace for free/ cheap storage units/shelves/hooks

Filling cabinets make good storage and the plastic garden boxes are good for rugs
