Myself and bf are driving from Cairnryan to Stoke next week.. since we will be doing a tremendous amount of driving anyway, are there any amazing wonderful unmissable tack shops along the M6 that we should call in to en route?!

Depends on what you're looking for, really! Give us a clue :)

There's Hope Valley saddlery at Somerford Park, it's an easy diversion (come off at junction 18, back on at 17), or Alsager and Sandbach saddlery (about 10 mins from junction 17).

Oh goodness, just anything really - somewhere nice that covers a bit of everything would be nice, to be honest I have no particular need for anything, somewhere decent sized with a good selection would do the trick!

Thank you for your suggestions btw smja!

Theres a Robinsons near Cannock on the A5. Think its junction 12 off M6. Eland Lodge equestrian centre has a nice tack shop and cafe but that may be too far out of your way.

If you are a fan of matchy matchy the saddlecloth/numnah selection at Diamond Saddlery near Cannock is awesome, they have lots of HKM stuff

Its further south than your destination though but near to Robinsons at Cannock if you wanted to make a journey of it

Diamond does have restricted opening hours I think

Oooh wonderful I will have a Google and get further details, we will probably stop off somewhere on way back up to cairnryan on thurs.. which is payday for me.. dangerous!

Ooh cool, it's only about half an hour from where we will be.. so we could pop down for a nosey before beginning our epic journey northward! That might work nicely, could do robbies first then out to diamond owing to its funny opening times.. just need to persuade the driver now that it's a good idea!

Both of these are well worth a visit.

another vote for Hope Valley, be aware though, you go in thinking ooh i will just have a nosey, and then end up spending a small fortune. But worth every penny !
