Ideally cheap! needs to be able to store at least three rugs, travel boots, associated horsy junk I have collected over the years. Would like to be able to lock it too. Any suggestions? Thanks

I have a couple of plastic storage trunks bought from either Homebase or B&Q- sorry I can't remember which one- they beige with green lockable lids, I use mine for storing rugs, can get plenty in them. They were approx £40 ish but that was a few years or so ago.

They were on offer at Countrywide last week at £35; don't know if the offer is still on though.

For all my bits and bobs I use a secondhand filing cabinet which I can lock up. Rugs I keep in an old chest freezer which you put a lock on if you drill into the lid.

We use the garden cushion storage boxes from Argos bought some more at the weekend as they were on offer for £26 earlier in the year they were on offer for £18 they normally £34-£35..we have 13 internal boxes and each box has one outside for each horses bandages, boots, sweat rugs etc.I couldnt afford to buy them all at once so have been buying 2 a month. Have also got a couple in the tackroom for the show rugs.We are in the middle of building a yard from scratch at a derelict farm and they have been invaluable for storage especially at the start.

Homebase have an offer on at the moment £99 for a very big Kettlar shed/storage box I have one and can fit an amazing amount into it. Not too hard to put together. A friend who has a very handy OH has changed the back to wood and she has installed her saddle racks in it to keep all the dust off. can get 3 across the width and you can lock the doors if you need too.

I keep all my junk (feed included) in an old school cupboard -the metal kind with the double doors. Theyre great cause you can lock them and they normally come with shelves to put in it

I got mine from a school that was having a clear out. Can't remember how much i gave them for it but it wasn't alot.

The only thing i've not tried to fit in it is my saddle and bridle, though there is room to keep or hang bridles in it.

Not much help but my OH made my box out of our old bed. People used to ask where I got it from, always makes me chuckle when I look inside and see the bed sticker he left on.
