Hello!!

just wanted to ask for some opinions on what tack would suit my horse. she is rising 25, tbx mare. i show her in hand and ridden but really shown through in the ridden class. judge said she would go far if she was turned out better ie: brown tack, better plaits ect. was looking for some brown tack and i see loads of different types of saddles/colours so i dont know what she would suit best. what type of saddle? colour? bridle?

She looks a nice type in the in hand photo, in the ridden one you are distracted by all the kit on her that is not doing anything so I can see where the judge is coming from, if you don't want to spend a fortune you can use the saddle you have just get rid of the square pad and get something saddle shaped and dark. Bridle should have a plain flat noseband, no flash, a wider brighter velvet browband would enhance her head if you opt to show her as a Riding horse. Her heels need trimming, her tail could do with being much shorter than in the second photo, hard to see what the plaits are like but practice as much as you can to get them even.

You need to find a tweed jacket, a tie to go with the browband, brown or tan gloves and a short cane not a schooling whip, hair in a net.

agree with the above, I'd go with a 5/8" cheekpiece bridle with 3/4" browband (velvet if she is to be turned out as a Riding Horse) and 1-1/4" flat Noseband, laced leather reins of 5/8" in Havana. No flash on the noseband (one of my pet hates in showing)

Hair in a bun - NO scrunchie unless you are 10
Plain leather whip or cane - Brown
Brown gloves, Navy hat, tweed jacket worn with a shirt and tie.
The tail needs to be about 10" shorter to enhance the hocks and show off the movement, and pulled to enhance the quarters.
