Can anyone tell me whether there is an obvious way of differentiating english leather tack from cheap imports.

I have identified several pieces at Equestrian Tack that I may wish to buy and simply cannot tell whether the leather is english or not, other than asking, of course!

It's a bit difficult though because it's over the internet! Anyone got any other ideas, perhaps?
