tacking up problems...

when i got henry he was really good to be tacked up - bought him with his saddle- but now he bites and trys to kick when i put his saddle on. Hes still good to put his briddle on. Advice needed. what to do what to do

Prob best to rule out a back prob and also that the saddle still fits. xxx

Your horse sounds like he is trying to tell you that wearing his saddle hurts.It could be he has a sore back or it could be he has changed shape and now the saddle no longer fits him.It could well be that he is now doing more or less work and therefore is feeling it in his back.Have you had his back checked at all? I also suggest you get a chiro or physio to look at his back and give him a once over to make sure it isn't him feeling it in his back as a result of pain elsewhere.Once this has been done then you can get the saddle fit checked.

Personally I'd think he was either cold backed or had something medically wrong rather than a saddle just being tight.....they're all different though I suppose. I'd be inclined to get the vet out for a bit of a look over. Don't do what I did and get back people out - wasted a year of my boy having hock problems thinking it was his back!
